Livestock movements, identification and tracing: movements - Cost Benefit Analysis phase 2

The risk assessment and cost benefit anlysis of animal movement standstills were commissioned in response to the recommendations made in July 2002 by the Lessons Learned and Royal Society Inquiries, and have been carried out for Defra by Risk Solutions, the Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) at Weybridge, and the Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics Research Unit (VEERU) at the University of Reading.

Below are links to the final findings (phase 2). These findings fed in to the decision that the six day standstill would become permanent as part of the standing animal movements regime. The move to a six day standstill in January 2003 was based on the emerging findings from this work (phase1).
