Notes

The policy of slaughter ceased in England and Wales on 31st March 1963, except for the peracute form of Newcastle disease and for fowl plague. In Scotland the slaughter policy continued for all types of fowl pest.

Note to CVO Annual Report 1976: In England and Wales a policy of slaughter and compensation was operative for outbreaks of peracute disease only until 12 October 1971. In Scotland a similar policy was operative for all forms of the disease until 31 May 1971 and for the peracute form only until 11 April 1972.

These figures include 2 cases of Fowl Plague in 1963 and 2 cases of peracute fowl pest in 1967.
