Avian influenza (bird flu): Valuation cards

1. Guidance is available on the use of Standard Valuation Cards:

a. Species and type Identification
b. Documentation to review
c. Ageing of poultry

2. Please use the card which most closely corresponds with the species and type of bird being valued.

3. Where the owner believes other factors should be taken into account, advise them to sign the Statement of Valuation and then to dispute the valuation as described. It is important to value and cull birds as soon as possible. Discussions over the valuation can be resolved after birds culled.

4. DVMs must ensure the current version is being used at the time of valuation.
