FMD 2001 outbreak - Inquiries

Three independent inquiries into the lessons to be learned from the foot and mouth disease outbreak of 2001 and a policy commission on the future of farming and the countryside were announced by the Government on 9 August 2001.

The independent inquiries which reported to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Margaret Beckett are:
