Animal by-products: Blood disposal

Blood from animals (except wild animals) is controlled under the Animal By-Products Regulation (ABPR). It must therefore be disposed of to an approved animal by-products premises.

Blood from farmed animals will usually be classed as Category 3 animal by-products, unless from animals that showed signs of communicable disease.
