England Implementation Plan
In these webpages, the England Implementation Group (EIG) presents an England Implementation Plan for the Animal Health and Welfare Strategy (AHWS) for Great Britain
(1.2 MB). Defra asked the EIG to do this in its Terms of Reference.
This Plan shows what key policy makers are doing, across Government, the industry and elsewhere, to help deliver the AHWS and bring about long term improvements to the health and welfare of England’s kept animals. It is the successor to Defra’s one‑off Implementation Plan of 2004. The EIG will use the Plan to help monitor delivery and to hold people to account. Policy makers, in- and outside of Government, will use it to see the range of activities and spot opportunities for collaboration or gaps to address.
Latest developments will be highlighted in each section.
Please contact the EIG Secretariat for any questions about the Plan, suggestions for improvements, or new material to include.
