OVS note 2011/24 – BIP update training day
BIP update training day: 17 june 2011
Purpose
To advise BIPs of a training day for portal staff to be held at Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London, on Friday 17 June 2011.
Background
Animal Health in conjunction with Defra and the Food Standards Agency, are providing two update training days per calendar year for all Official Veterinary Surgeons and Official Fish Inspectors responsible for carrying out Veterinary Checks at BIPs.
The training day will start at 10:00 and will finish no later than 16:00. Mike Glavin, Lead Officer for BIPs with the EU Commission has agreed to provide an update for the first part of the day and updates will also be provided by the FSA and Defra. We also plan to have a presentation on the new Animal By-product Regulations.
Lunch will not be provided, but a canteen is available within the building where refreshments can be obtained. You will be provided with a certificate of attendance and a copy of the certificate should be held at the BIP as part of your training records.
