Details

Use this form to apply for an Article 10 certificate for a specimen listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) that you intend to:

  • buy or sell
  • offer for sale
  • display for commercial purposes

A specimen includes any living or dead plant or animal (or any of its parts) listed under CITES controls.

You only need the certificate for use of a specimen listed under annex A of CITES.

Use the Species+ tool to search for an endangered species. Check which annex (A, B, C or D) it’s classified under.

Read the guidance before completing the form. This explains:

  • what information you have to give
  • the codes to use
  • how to successfully complete the application

If you are using a specimen in Northern Ireland, you need to complete the Northern Ireland form.

Send your application

If possible, you should send your application by email to CITESapplication@apha.gov.uk.

Please apply in advance to avoid delay – APHA is dealing with a high volume of applications.

If you cannot send your application by email, you can post forms to the APHA Centre for International Trade: Bristol. If you apply by post it may take longer.
