Great Britain Gains SVC Freedom

On the 7 December 2010 the Commission issued an amendment to Decision 2010/221/EU establishing that Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) has gained recognition as being free from Spring Viraemia of Carp (SVC)

This means that imports continue to require declarations as being free from SVC.

It also means that exports of SVC susceptible fish can now be certified to EU territories that are SVC free these include – Eire, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands (except cyprinus carpio – common and koi carp, destined for a territory also free from KHV).
