The Environment Agency (EA) is the monitoring authority for the England and uses the mass balance calculation to monitor the amount of biodegradable municipal waste sent to landfill in any year by each waste disposal authority.
The Waste Implementation Programme (WIP) can offer help to authorities to plan how to reduce the amount of biodegradable municipal waste sent to landfill as well as offer support, guidance and funding.
WasteDataFlow is the web-based tool for local authorities to report waste data to central government.
