Projects by funded the BREW programme are being delivered through a number of established programmes and organisations.

Action Sustainability – BREW is funding the Sustainable Supply Chain Group SSCG plans to build capacity in sustainable procurement, working with key businesses to embed recommendations of the Sustainable Procurement National Action plan into their strategies and within their supply chains.

Business Reuse Fund – The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts is managing a competitive fund to support applications from community sector groups working with business waste.

Envirowise - offers your business free, independent, confidential advice and support on practical ways to increase profits, minimise waste and reduce environmental impact. National Industrial Symbiosis Programme (NISP) - NISP may be able to help you use your waste materials as an input material for another industry or supply you with someone else's waste to use in your manufacturing processes. The Resource Efficiency Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is one of a ‘family’ of Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTN) the objective of which is to improve the UK’s innovation performance by increasing the breadth and depth of the knowledge transfer of technology into UK-based businesses and by accelerating the rate at which this process occurs.

Waste Matters - provided as part of the Business Resource Efficiency & Waste programme (BREW) to help and encourage BREW partners and stakeholders to share information and advice and debate current issues in waste enforcement.

WRAP - the Waste and Resources Action Programme. WRAP offers a business development service, including professional advice on recycling businesses and a 'marriage service' to match businesses to potential funders. WRAP is also working towards creating markets for three new recycled materials: tyres, plasterboard and batteries. See their website for more information or call WRAP on 0808 100 2040.

Longer term projects

Agricultural Waste - BREW is funding a programme to assist the sustainable management of agricultural waste, which will soon be brought within the scope of the Waste Framework Directive. Market Transformation Programme - Amongst other things MTP are working on providing reliable information on the resource efficiency of products, systems and services. Their substantial evidence base can be found on their website. You can contact MTP on 0845 600 8951 or by email to info@mtprog.com

Technology Strategy Board: Technology Programme - This BERR-led programme can help your business fulfil its potential for innovation. It provides grants for research and development into resource efficiency and for knowledge transfer networks. You can find more details on research calls and findings on their website.

The Environment Agency- The Agency are having a 'zero tolerance' crack down to tackle illegal dumping and flytipping, initially in three areas. They are also compiling an online database of legal waste carriers to help you make sure your waste collection suppliers are lawful.
