Section 4 - Technical guidance - Arable
| Feature | Feature detail | Unit of measurement |
|---|---|---|
| A01 - Arable | - | hectare |
A01 - Arable
- Land used for the production of combinable crops, root crops, field scale vegetables or maize.
- This also includes land in game cover crops, agri-environment scheme arable and margin options, set-aside, grass margins in arable fields and short-term set-aside. Short term leys forming part of a crop rotation are also included in this land type.
- Long-term set-aside is defined as land that has been in grass set-aside
for over five years. For both long-term set-aside and arable land reverted
to grassland under an
agri-environment scheme you must record the grassland type (page 58) noting that it is set-aside or an agri-environment scheme in the notes column.
Notes
- This land use type should only be recorded in part 2 of the FEP when recording a historic environment and landscape feature (H01-H15), which lies either on or adjacent to the arable field.
- However, you will need to annotate your map with the above code wherever arable land occurs.
- This feature does not require a condition assessment.
